Romans 1:20

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

Our One Month Anniversary

Now anyone that knows me will testify to the fact that I am a little obsessed with CHOCOLATE! What a great husband to have picked up on that so quickly! As Andrew did his gentlemanly thing and opened my door to the car, I saw the best gift a girl could get! A box of Lindt and a really cute card waiting for me on the seat! It had been waiting for me since the morning which means that by lunch time the balls were very soft and melted, but that would not stop me from at least testing... Next it was off to the Valencia Cinema to catch a movie. The last time we were here was when I had just arrived in December and we watched our first movie together so it was quite a fitting start to the first of many anniversary dates! The screen was quite something! The whole thing curves around at the sides and was so much bigger than the screens you get in South Africa. If this was normal then I really want to see the IMAX screen here! We really enjoyed the movie and then stopped by on our way out to pick up a milkshake at Johnny Rockets, our favourite spot from December too!

Next we had the choice to go either to the mountains or the ocean... It was just our luck that you have to go through one to get to the other! We we won both ways and got onto the Pacific Coastal Highway, driving along stopping at a few different spots to enjoy the Lord's beautiful creation.

The highway is such a beautiful one, with breathtaking views of islands just off shore, oil rigs, and yachts on the calm water. The mountainous backdrop to the coast makes it one of the most amazing places to go to, and because of it, the temperature is about 9 degrees cooler at the coast than on the other side of the mountains. The beaches themselves are varied, some sandy and soft, and some rocky and full of driftwood. And that is waht makes it so much fun! You can get the full spectrum as you drive along and stop at each offramp.

After spending the rest of the afternoon up and down the coast we made our way back home, stopping to pick up some food since it was quite late already. We went to Macaroni Grill to use a gift voucher our friend gave us as a wedding gift. What a great restaurant! The place was very Italian, they even had itlaian language lessons playing in the restrooms! What a laugh I had! The food was also very high quality and extremely tasty! I set up a romantic candlelit dinner and we enjoyed our meal together, reminiscing over the last month's fondest memories. We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and grace which sees us through each day...
